My name is Tamara and I am a clay artist based in New Mexico. I love making clay pictures using twigs, grasses, leaves and rocks to create naturalistic images in clay. After the impressions are made and the picture feels complete the piece is bisque fired and then a wash of iron oxide is sponged on and wiped back to reveal the image. It is then fired a second time and the iron becomes bonded with the clay. I find great joy in making these and my hope is they bring joy to others as well.
